In the 10-round heavyweight contest, big Buddy Baer, brother of the "Livermore Larupper" Max, defeated "Two Ton" Tony when the fight was stopped in the 7th.  His hand broken, Galento conceded.  This bout was just prior to Baer's challenge for the World Championship against Joe Louis in late May.  Though scheduled for 8, Brooklyn's light heavyweight Katz required only 3 to defeat fellow New Yorker Del Paoli by a TKO, while Indiana's Thompson took a full 6 to give the obscure Walker his only lesson in the ring.  D.C.'s Banks beat the Filippino Dano over 6, and the local fighter Cranford drew with Portland, Oregon's Dunn in a short 4, the 1st pro bout for both middleweights.
