Fighting finally on the 1st of July in this local duel in Scranton in northeastern Pennsyvania, the novice Al Jackson won in 10 over the acccomplished featherweight from Lackawanna, New York, Bill Kowalik, a Polish-American pugilist.  Records of the remainder of the card at the baseball park that evening have not been found.
