  In the world title bout, the Puerto-Rican champion La Porte had to go the 12-round distance against his Dominican rival and then only earned a split decision.  Called "The Hawk" in his native Virgin Islands, Jackson knocked out the South Carolinian "Plow Boy" in the 3rd of 10.
