"With the Compliments of Jack Solomons"
- Jack Solomons was a British boxing promoter who has been called "one of the greatest boxing promoters in history" and "England's greatest boxing impressario". Solomons was born in Petticoat Lane in the East End of London. He began promoting boxing in London during the 1930s. He took over operations at the Devonshire Club in Hackney, but that club was destroyed in the bombing of 1940. Later,his base of operations was his gymnasium located at 41 Great Windmill Street in Soho.
