  In a pair of world championship bouts postponed until Dec. 14th, the welter and bantam belts were contested in The Forum in Los Angeles.  The Cuban exile Jose Napoles successfully demonstrated the skills that earned him The Ring Magazine's Fighter of the Year honors for 1969, as he took the unanimous decision over Hedgemon Lewis.  In the bantam confrontation, Ruben Olivares pummelled Jesus Pimentel for round after round until the aging Hall-of-Famer "Little Poison" out of Jalisco, Mexico, surrendered to time, taking the TKO on the way to retirement.
