The southpaw "Flushing Flash" Kelley successfully defended the featherweight title, taking the unanimous decision over "Goyo" Gregorio Vargas after 12. Fighting in a 10-round undercard match, the undefeated "Double M" Moorer collected his 34th win over "Mighty" Mike Evans in a warm-up for his challenge to Holyfield the next April. Williams was knocked out in the 4th round of his match with the undefeated Mexican future light middleweight champion Campas, with "Yori Boy" earning an amazing 54th win as a professional. Holcomb suffered his 2nd loss in 19 appearances by a TKO in the 5th to the future lightweight contender Avila, whose record went to 14-1-1. |
